Kick-<span class=SpellE>returner<\/span> <span\nstyle='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Willie <span class=GramE>Reid,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\nlisted as doubtful for the <st1:City><st1:place>Baltimore<\/st1:place><\/st1:City><br \/>\ngame as recently as Thursday, will not play. Linebackers <span style='mso-bidi-font-weight:\nbold'>Clark <span class=SpellE>Haggans<\/span> <\/span>and <span\nstyle='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>James Harrison,<\/span> center <span\nstyle='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Jeff <span class=SpellE>Hartings<\/span>, <\/span>and<br \/>\ncornerback <span class=SpellE><span style='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Deshea<\/span><\/span><span\nstyle='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'> Townsend <\/span>are all probable. In<br \/>\nBaltimore, linebacker <span style='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Ray Lewis,<\/span><br \/>\noffensive guard and former <span class=SpellE>Steeler<\/span> <span\nclass=SpellE><span style='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Keydrick<\/span><\/span><span\nstyle='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'> Vincent,<\/span> tight ends <span\nstyle='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Daniel Wilcox<\/span> and <span\nstyle='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Todd Heap,<\/span> and defensive tackle <span\nclass=SpellE><span style='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Dwan<\/span><\/span><span\nstyle='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'> Edwards<\/span> remained questionable. Moss had sat out<br \/>\nagainst Dallas, returned to have his worst day with the Redskins in<br \/>\nPhiladelphia and was inactive again last week at Tampa Bay. &nbsp;However,<br \/>\nstrong safety Troy Vincent, who left with a strained hamstring in the second<br \/>\nquarter last Sunday, hasn\u2019t been back on the field since and won\u2019t play against<br \/>\nthe Panthers. That means that Vernon Fox, signed off waivers from Detroit on<br \/>\nAug. 29, will start for the first time since the Lions\u2019 2003 season finale. The<br \/>\nRedskins have lost five of their past six games. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><b style='mso-bidi-font-weight:normal'><span lang=EN\nstyle='mso-ansi-language:EN'>49ers-Rams<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<h3><span lang=EN style='font-size:12.0pt;mso-ansi-language:EN'>St. Louis Today<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Sacked just 13 times in the first five games, when the<br \/>\nRams went 4-1, Bulger has been dumped on 22 times in the Rams\u2019 five-game losing<br \/>\nstreak. It\u2019s no coincidence that the offensive output has waned, culminating<br \/>\nwith last Sunday\u2019s shutout at <st1:City><st1:place>Carolina<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.<br \/>\nAdam Timmerman (bruised ribs) practiced Friday for the second successive day<br \/>\nand will be in the lineup Sunday against <st1:City><st1:place>San Francisco<\/st1:place><\/st1:City><br \/>\nat the Edward Jones Dome. \u201cHe felt much better. He\u2019s good to go,\u201d <span\nclass=SpellE>Linehan<\/span> said. Todd <span class=SpellE>Steussie<\/span> will<br \/>\nstart at left tackle, with Alex Barron at right tackle, Incognito at center and<br \/>\nprobably rookie Mark <span class=SpellE>Setterstrom<\/span> at left guard. <span\nclass=SpellE>Setterstrom<\/span>, inactive for the first nine games, spelled<br \/>\nTimmerman for nine plays at <st1:City><st1:place>Carolina<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.<br \/>\n\u201cMark played well when he went in last week,\u201d <span class=SpellE>Linehan<\/span><br \/>\nsaid. \u201cHe\u2019s been working to get to this chance, and it\u2019s about time we gave him<br \/>\none.\u201d Adam Goldberg, who struggled at left tackle vs. the Panthers, will be<br \/>\nworked into the guard rotation, <span class=SpellE>Linehan<\/span> said.<br \/>\nFullback Paul Smith barely had climbed off the shelf when a hamstring injury<br \/>\nput him back on. Smith, who missed two games earlier with an eye injury, was<br \/>\ninjured covering the Rams\u2019 last of nine punts at <st1:City><st1:place>Carolina<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<h2><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Cardinals-Vikings<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><st1:State><st1:place><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Minnesota<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:State><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt'> Star-Tribune<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>After ranking among the NFL\u2019s top 10 offenses in nine<br \/>\nseasons between 1994 and 2004, the Vikings are producing their second<br \/>\nconsecutive season of <span class=SpellE>punchless<\/span> offense. They ranked<br \/>\nNo. 25 in total offense last year, their worst performance since 1984, and this<br \/>\nseason the Vikings are on track to set a series of team records for offensive<br \/>\nfutility. If they continue at their current pace, the Vikings will break<br \/>\nrecords for fewest touchdowns (28), first downs (283), <span class=GramE>touchdown<\/span><br \/>\npasses (15) and will come close to the franchise low for points (259) in a<br \/>\nseason. Removing running back Chester Taylor\u2019s longest four runs this season\u2014including<br \/>\na 95-yard touchdown against <st1:City><st1:place>Seattle<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>\u2014leaves<br \/>\nthe Vikings with a 3.3-yard average in its other 269 carries. That total<br \/>\nrepresents 98.5 percent of the Vikings\u2019 running plays this season. Entering<br \/>\nSunday\u2019s game against the Vikings, the Cardinals are the league\u2019s worst rushing<br \/>\noffense despite the presence of free agent acquisition Edgerrin James; overall,<br \/>\ntheir offense is ranked No. 28.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<h2><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Jaguars-Bills<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><st1:City><st1:place><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Jacksonville<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt'> Times-Union<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>But perhaps one of the most overlooked units is <st1:City><st1:place>Jacksonville<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>\u2019s<br \/>\noffensive line, which has consistently churned out solid performances, helping<br \/>\nthe team\u2019s rushing attack climb to No. 3 in the NFL while allowing just 14<br \/>\nsacks. Last season, the Jaguars ranked 15<sup>th<\/sup> in total offense (321.8<br \/>\nyards per game) and 10<sup>th<\/sup> in rushing (122.4 <span class=SpellE>ypg<\/span>)<br \/>\nwhile allowing 32 sacks. So far this season, the rushing attack is averaging<br \/>\n135.9 yards per game and the offense ranks 16<sup>th<\/sup> overall. Jaguars<br \/>\nguard Vince <span class=SpellE>Manuwai<\/span> credits the promotion of Andy<br \/>\nHeck from offensive assistant to offensive line coach and the arrival of<br \/>\nassistant head coach Mike Tice with the line\u2019s success so far this season. Upon<br \/>\nthe promotion, Heck emphasized to the offensive line the importance of focusing<br \/>\non its run-block angles, which has resulted in more of a downhill rushing<br \/>\nattack. Bills quarterback J.P. <span class=SpellE>Losman<\/span> enters into<br \/>\nSunday\u2019s game coming off a career performance (340 yards passing and 3 <span\nclass=SpellE>TDs<\/span>) the week prior against the Houston Texans. The Jaguars<br \/>\nhope to cool off <span class=SpellE>Losman<\/span> by making him<br \/>\none-dimensional. \u201cHe can do it all,\u201d middle linebacker Daryl Smith said. \u201cHe<br \/>\ncan run and make some plays with his feet, but he\u2019s got a big arm, too. \u201cHe\u2019s<br \/>\nplaying pretty well right now, so we just want to keep him in the pocket and<br \/>\nmake him throw the ball.\u201d Cornerback Terry Cousin<span class=dti-bold1> <\/span>(groin)<br \/>\nis doubtful for today\u2019s game. Receiver Ernest <span class=SpellE>Wilford<\/span><span\nclass=dti-bold1> <\/span>(ankle) is questionable along with Cortez <span\nclass=SpellE>Hankton<\/span> (hamstring) and cornerback Brian Williams<br \/>\n(hamstring), who missed portions of Friday\u2019s workout. <st1:City><st1:place>Buffalo<\/st1:place><\/st1:City><br \/>\nrunning back Willis McGahee (ribs) practiced on Friday, but is listed as<br \/>\nquestionable for Sunday\u2019s game.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<h2><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Eagles-Colts<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><st1:City><st1:place><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Philadelphia<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt'> Daily News<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><st1:City><st1:place>Philadelphia<\/st1:place><\/st1:City><br \/>\nminus Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb for the remainder of the season and<br \/>\nriding a below-average 5-5 <span class=GramE>record,<\/span> will be traveling<br \/>\nto <st1:City><st1:place>Indianapolis<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> tomorrow night to<br \/>\nface perhaps the NFL\u2019s most dangerous scoring squad. The Colts, who are 9-1<br \/>\nafter losing their first game last Sunday to the Dallas Cowboys, lead the<br \/>\nleague in total offense with 374.8 yards per game and passing offense with 270<br \/>\nyards per <span class=SpellE>outing.The<\/span> Colts\u2019 high-powered offense is<br \/>\ndue primarily to Manning\u2019s consistency and accuracy to his steady receivers,<br \/>\nMarvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. Those two account for 1,698 of Manning\u2019s<br \/>\nleague-leading 2,781 passing yards. The key, however, for the Eagles, who are<br \/>\napproaching this game as a must win to keep their playoff hopes <span\nclass=GramE>alive,<\/span> will be controlling the game\u2019s tempo. So far this<br \/>\nseason, the Colts have averaged 10 offensive series per game, keeping their<br \/>\nopponents\u2019 defense on the field for an average of 31-plus minutes per game.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>The Eagles were used to a quick-strike offense with<br \/>\nMcNabb, but will likely alter their game plan slightly with backup quarterback<br \/>\nJeff Garcia under center at the RCA Dome. Because the Colts do such a great job<br \/>\ncontrolling the ball and the clock, <span class=SpellE>Stallworth<\/span> said<br \/>\nthe Eagles\u2019 offense has to maximize its time with the ball. <span class=SpellE><span\nstyle='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Dont\u00e9<\/span><\/span><span style='mso-bidi-font-weight:\nbold'> <span class=SpellE>Stallworth<\/span><\/span> returned to practice and<br \/>\nwent the entire time after missing Thursday\u2019s session with hamstring issues. <span\nclass=SpellE>Stallworth<\/span>, who missed four games earlier this season with<br \/>\na strained hamstring, said he is fine and expects to play tomorrow night&#8230;<br \/>\nLinebacker <span style='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Shawn Barber<\/span> (knee)<br \/>\ndid not practice yesterday and will not play against the Colts. Coach <span\nstyle='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Andy Reid<\/span> said he plans to have <span\nstyle='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Matt McCoy<\/span> and <span style='mso-bidi-font-weight:\nbold'>Michael Lewis<\/span> working in and out of the <span class=SpellE>position.Cornerback<\/span><br \/>\n<span style='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>William James<\/span> (knee) did not<br \/>\npractice while linebacker <span style='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Jason Short<\/span><br \/>\n(ankle sprain) was limited in practice. Both are listed as questionable.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<h2><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Raiders-Chargers<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>San Francisco Chronicle<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Raiders left guard Barry Sims was ruled out for Sunday\u2019s<br \/>\ngame with an ongoing abdomen problem by Raiders coach Art Shell on Friday,<br \/>\nputting quarterback Aaron Brooks behind a makeshift offensive line.
