With Rachel Alexandra taking a pass on Saturday’s Belmont Stakes the favorite to win the third jewel of horse racing’s Triple Crown is Mine That Bird. Jockey Calvin Borel will be back on Mine That Bird for the Belmont Stakes after he rode Rachel Alexandra to victory in the Preakness Stakes. Borel and Mine That Bird combined to win the Kentucky Derby last month, meaning the jockey has a chance to sweep the Triple Crown events. The top challenger for Saturday’s race at Belmont Park is expected to be Charitable Man, with Dunkirk the third favorite.
